Job 1: Job for Chemist 1

Job Title: Chemist-A

Location: Durham, NC

Duration: Permanent

 

Job Overview:

Chemist will perform a variety of QC testing to assess the strength, identity, and purity of test samples and/or materials. The Chemist will work as a member of the QC Inhalation team to effectively plan and perform analytical testing using established (official and/or in-house) test procedures. The Chemist may execute 90% - 100% of their work at the bench level.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Perform assigned sampling, physical, chemical tests and assay on raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, in-process, finished and stability products, using various wet chemicals, physical and instrumental techniques (HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, IR, Particle Size Analyzer, KF Auto titrator, Bulk Density, and other routine QC instruments) as per as per USP monograph / In-house / any other Compendial monographs.

2. Independently plan and make adequate inventory of test reagents and solutions to perform work, assure supplies are ordered as needed to perform assigned work.

3. Independently plan and execute testing to meet established timelines. Perform complicated testing with supervisory direction.

4. Record data and results as specified in documentation procedures. Document work clearly and perform tests accurately.

5. Prepare and/or Review Test Procedures, SOPs, and Protocols as assigned.

6. Perform maintenance and calibrations of laboratory instruments/equipment with supervisory direction/training.

7. Perform troubleshooting and investigations under the direction of a supervisor.

8. Comply with all regulatory/in-house requirements (may include but not limited to safety, housekeeping, laboratory chemical waste, cGMP, cGLP, documentation) when performing the assigned activity.

9. Review of Analytical documents as required

 

Qualifications - Skills & Requirements:

• Minimum BS with Scientific field

• BS with Chemistry is one of the subjects that would be preferable

• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in pharmaceuticals and 1-2 years of experience in Analytical testing desirable

• QC experience in Generic Pharmaceutical industries would be preferable

• Experience testing Inhalation products, especially MDI, would be desirable

• Knowledge in Good Documentation practices. Knowledge in USP/ICH/FDA

• Ability to learn quickly and decision-making skills 


Job 2: Job forChemist 2


Job Title: Chemist-C

Location: Durham, NC

Duration: Direct Hire

 

Overview: -

Perform assigned sampling, physical, chemical tests and assay on Topicals and transdermal in-process, finished and stability products, using various wet chemicals, physical and instrumental techniques (HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, IR, Particle Size Analyzer, KF Auto titrator, Bulk Density, and other routine QC instruments)

 

Responsibilities:

Job 3: Assistant Scientist


Job Title: Assistant Scientist Inhalation R&D

Location: Durham, NC 

Duration: Fulltime Perm

 

Job Overview:

In this position, the incumbent will perform test methods for complex formulations under general oversight and documenting those experiments per cGMP requirements. Must be able to calculate, organize, and communicate results via standard data templates and reports. Experience in a cGMP laboratory and testing inhaled product (e.g. MDI and DPI) samples is preferred. Must possess good organizational skills, a commitment to quality work, and good oral and written communication skills, and work effectively as part of a team.

 

Responsibilities:

•          Will participate in the development and validation of inhalation test methods through execution of defined experiments under oversight.

•          Test methods to be executed include dose content uniformity, Product impaction by Next Generation Impactor, Karl Fischer moisture content, spray pattern, plume geometry, etc.

•          Will provide support of inhaled product development programs from reverse engineering through registration stabilities by performing active and excipient assays as well as executing performance test methods on a variety of formulations.

•          Verbal communication of results and observations to the development team as well as written communication via study reports will be necessary

•          Write SOP's, protocols and reports

•          Perform experiments independently with guidance from supervisor

•          Perform lab maintenance activities

•          Troubleshoots equipment and coordinates equipment qualification and calibration. Maintains a clean and safe working environment. May assist in MDI formulation and filling

 

Qualifications - Skills & Requirements:

•          cGMP laboratory experience

•          BA/BS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field with 0+ years of experience (pharmaceuticals or related).

•          Experience with execution or support of inhaled product testing
